We provide routine and complex surgeries, where your pet gets the best care.
Throughout your pet’s life, there may come a time when they need to undergo certain types of surgeries. Spays and neuters, for example, are routine procedures that are part of most if not all pets’ health care routines. Other procedures however, may need to be performed to help treat certain health problems and injuries (e.g. broken bones, skin tumours). At Dundas Veterinary Services, our high-quality equipment and experienced team will ensure that your pet’s procedure, if they ever need one, will be performed in the most efficient way. Please contact us if you have any further questions about our surgical services that are not addressed on this page.
Our veterinary team here at Dundas Veterinary Services regularly performs a wide range of surgical procedures for companion animals, equine and farm animals. Please feel free to call us to learn in more detail about all the surgeries we perform. Some our most common procedures are: spays, neuters, orthopedic surgeries as well as general soft tissue surgeries
Before your furry family member is scheduled for their procedure, our team will make sure that you are well aware of all the steps and precautions you can do to help prepare them for their surgery, as well as their recovery post-op. The process of preparing your pet for surgery depends on several factors. Each pet, health condition and surgery comes with different preparatory requirements, which we will outline during your one-on-one consultation.
Arriving on time is one of the best things you can do, as it helps our team stay on schedule so that our other patients that day are given the same amount of time, energy and care as your cherished pet.
Not at all. When performing anything from dental extractions to tumour removals, your pet will feel no pain whatsoever. Our team will use anesthesia to make your pet unconscious and unable to feel any pain. Post-op and during their healing period, prescription pain medications can help reduce their discomfort so that they rebound as quickly as possible.
