What should I do to prepare my dog/ my cat for surgery?

Before your furry family member is scheduled for their procedure, our team will make sure that you are well aware of all the steps and precautions you can do to help prepare them for their surgery, as well as their recovery post-op. The process of preparing your pet for surgery depends on several factors. Each pet, health condition and surgery comes with different preparatory requirements, which we will outline during your one-on-one consultation.

What do I have to do on the day of my pet’s surgery?

Arriving on time is one of the best things you can do, as it helps our team stay on schedule so that our other patients that day are given the same amount of time, energy and care as your cherished pet.

Is surgery painful for pets?

Not at all. When performing anything from dental extractions to tumour removals, your pet will feel no pain whatsoever. Our team will use anesthesia to make your pet unconscious and unable to feel any pain. Post-op and during their healing period, prescription pain medications can help reduce their discomfort so that they rebound as quickly as possible.
